I’ve been wait listed, but I’m unsure if I actually would accept an admission offer from them mainly because of the sheer cost of attending NYU. On the Tisch class of '17 page, many of them mentioned going into serious debt (I’m glad I’m not the only one), but that it was worth it because it’s NYU.

But let’s be rational for a second — is Tisch really worth the debt? (68k per year)

No. No school is worth weighing yourself down with huge amounts of debt.
Some debt can be fine but usually no more than what the Staffords allow.
It’s easy to just borrow but the reality in 4 years can be brutal.
Read the financial aid forums. That will really help you understand how bad it can get.

unless you are financially able or 10000% sure you’ll have a career lucrative enough to pay off your debts in a short time without problems (which i don’t think anyone is) I don’t think you should go to a school you can’t afford.

It doesn’t matter if its Stanford, MIT, Yale, Vanderbilt, Harvard, Dartmouth, USC, NYU or Princeton.
