Senioritis has set in already, so currently I:
-sleep in class
-skip class
-leave class to sleep in film room/coaches office
-be a wise @ss

Although I would also really like to:
-learn to play piano or guitar
-be in an open relationship (hahaha, dont want anything serious senior year)
-get a job for once?
-go somewhere for spring break
-concerts. nuff said

get a letter grade lower in all my classes

read books for fun

get my drivers’ license

hang out with my friends

still have commitments to lit mag, newspaper, and research, which I like to do, so thats fine.

If you’re applying everywhere RD, is it okay to slack off completely 2nd semester before you get your results?

If accepted Tufts ED II in Feb:
-AHHHH SO MUCH FUN, PARTY!!! Illegal things, tons of piano, doing just enough work to scrape low Bs and not get rescinded, get my license, read like I used to back when I had time, be happy (!!!), spend more time downtown

If rejected Tufts ED II in Feb:
-overdose on sleeping pills?
-Get insane sem 2 grades, go to best college possible, transfer to Tufts as a sophomore… :///

Oh one thing I want to do is to hand in a completely blank quiz. Tests are too valuable :\ but quizzes aren’t. Im literally just going to hand in a quiz right after the class is given it.

In math, I’m starting to write inconvenient answers for the teacher. Such as writing numerical answers in Sigma notation, multiplying fractions (top and bottom) by large numbers, etc. Needless to say, he gets very irritated.

Has anyone’s school created an incentive to have higher grade as a 2nd semester senior?

For me, if you’re a senior and have an A-, you don’t need to take the final. Or if you took the AP test and have a B-, you don’t have to take the final.

So I will be hovering in that A- range hopefully, and for those that I take the AP test I’ll be, well, perhaps below that.

At our school, if you have an A- you don’t need to take the final in most classes. The teachers usually cut down the amount of work because they know that the seniors won’t be doing it, so an A- without too much effort is usually doable in most classes.

My history teacher this year gives more and more work as the year goes on, just to annoy the senior class. Its her way of keeping us engaged, but doesn’t work at all as no seniors do work and some have failed her class senior because they didn’t care. No one got rescinded or anything though.

We also have senior internships, where you go on an internship in May and June, but this is the last year they’re doing that.

You guys are lucky , in where I come from - I’m international - Senior year is the MOST important year in your life. It will basiclly define all your life , college over here only care about your senior year grades and that’s all .
All my classmates never cared about studying in Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years , they cared enough to get a D or a C and that’s all , and now in Senior year they are all studying for an A+ . But since I wanted to study in the US since ever , I couldn’t just " skip " fresh, soph, and Junior years Cuz I knew they are important in the US. And now I can’t just be careless in Senior year because iam applying to some of the colleges over here as back up plans . This sucks , I had to be stressed out in ALL my HS journey , And I won’t take a break except for summer before college . THAT REALLY SUCKS :(

1) Read all the books I’ve been meaning to read but haven’t had enough time to. Joyce, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Orwell, Huxley etc. Possibly some philosophy too.
2) Actually get into shape for once.
3) Teach myself programming.
4) Try to teach myself chinese or spanish.
5) Self-study some real analysis and calculus.
6) Play lots and lots of pick up basketball.
7) Work on ISEF and my research, try to get them published.
8) Get my driver’s license.

Funny how much time I want to spend studying things I want to study is taken away by school.

I’ll lay low, effort-wise, until April, when I begin intense self-studying for AP. But in-class effort will taper off to zero. I have several stunts planned to broadcast my new mindset, including the gym class where I plan to plank all class long. I’m not even a planker.
