Anyone familiar with IU dining halls and how well they handle food allergy issues? There is just a little info on their website and it does not seem all that encouraging. Since freshmen are required to live on-campus, I’m trying to get a feel for how allergy-friendly campus dining really is.
Have you tried posting on the IU school page? I hope you get answers. My shrimp-allergic son has had hives much more at Rutgers due to cross-contamination (who knew Rutgers would serve shrimp frequently in the dining halls?). Kids aren’t careful with those serving spoons. Fortunately, he hasn’t had anything worse than hives. Good luck!!
I’ve spoken with The College Food Allergy Consultants. They have a database that covers all of this, including what level of allergy training the staff has had, etc. You can google them - they have a website, etc. VERY HELPFUL!
