for anyone that has auditioned for the musical theatre BFA can you give me an idea on how it was? I’m definitly auditioning for the year of 2008 but i am slightly nervous since they only accept 10-12 students. thanks!

Are you just wondering about the auditions themselves or the actual program?

The dance audition is hard. Pinney is a pretty fierce choreographer. Stylistically, it was the most difficult BFA dance audition I had last year. There is also an actual acting class where you're partnered up and you do some acting games/exercizes. I thought that was pretty unusual, but it was a good way to size up the competition and also to wear off some adrenaline because it was tons of fun.

Other than that, it was just the standard 32 measures of ballad/uptempo and 90 sec monologue.

thanks for the info. i guess the dancing is generally jazzish? and i couldn't find a list but are there any songs besides the ones that are known not to audition for? thanks for all of the info

i also wouldn't mind knowning more about the program as well!
