Yeah, so I've been accepted into IU's Kelley School of Business (Honors/Direct Admit) and into Boston College's Carroll School of Management (Honors).

I won't receive any financial aid from BC, so the price tag is 50k/yr. With IU, I’d pay out of state tuition, but with scholarships, the total cost would be around 22k/yr (and I’d start school with 30+ credit hours).

The thing is, I like BC's campus, size and feel a lot more than IU...I don't think I'd enjoy attending a school of 35 thousand kids. I do like IU's curriculum, though...
My parents said they would pay for whatever school I choose, but still, 50k is a financial burden, and they would much rather prefer to pay IU's tuition.

Job opportunity-wise, which school would be better for a business major?

Also, I'm planning to go onto grad school, possibly pursuing a JD. Is undergrad school's prestige a big issue when applying to a top law school? (Harvard law, for instance)

I'd just like to hear your opinions, as I'm pretty stuck right now.

Thanks, guys.

I think you would be absolutely out of your mind to go to BC. You would be saving $134,000 if you chose IU instead as you would only have to be there 3 years and tuition is drastically cheaper.

yeah, it sure seems that way :P

Although I would probably stick around IU for a 4th year, as I'm one of those overachievers who will attempt a double major, traveling abroad, internships, and whatever else I can...

I was just trying to see if Carroll had anything over IU...but when comparing prices, the benefits become kind of small.

I guess the main question I have is whether prestige is a big factor when applying to grad/law school...will a 3.9 at BC be more impressive than a 3.9 at IU if I were applying to Harvard law...

No, both schools have roughly the same peer assessment (IU = 3.8, BC = 3.6). Neither will give you a significant advantage over another in grad school admissions, we're not comparing Fort Hays State to Emory here.

They're very similar in terms of prestige, but IU definitely has more options in terms of classes, and doesn't have the hefty BC core requirement.

great, thanks.

That definitely makes my decision easy.
