I'm planning on going into Marketing and I'm aware that both Indiana University (Bloomington) and The Ohio State University have good business programs.

The issue is, if I go to OSU, I'll probably graduate with less debt compared to IU. But I like IU a bit more and they have a woodwind marching band (OSU is all brass; I play the flute..) and IU ranked better on the national scale (of just business schools, I think).
* I have yet to hear back from either of their Financial Aid offices though

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I would choose IU over OSU if the money isn’t too much of a problem. It has a better business school, a better campus, and doesn’t currently have a cheating coach.

I have to disagree with the post above. OSU is a great school, and if it comes down to IU vs. OSU, I would choose OSU.

When it comes to ‘Undergraduate Business,’ both TOSU and IU are ranked #14 in the nation by USNWR.

In addition, The Wall Street Journal did a survey of 500 large companies in 2010, and complied a ranking of schools from the recruiters point of view. Here is the link for the Top-25, TOSU comes in at #12.

The recruiter survey is worthless, in my opinion.

Bloomington (as a college town) >>>>Columbus.

I agree with MoWC, especially on the last point.

Actually USNWR ranks Kelly #10 and Fisher #14.
BusinessWeek ranks Kelly 18th (recruiter rank=8) and Fisher 53rd (recruiter rank=23).

For money, it has to do with out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition. So a difference of… about 30k?

As for the cheating coach, it really doesn’t have too much to do with my education, I hope.

Thanks for the correction and update on the latest USNWR ranking, mine was a year older taken from the website of Fischer College of Business.

Go Bucks!! lol

There is little difference between #10 and #14; both are good business schools. I was just pulling your leg. And don’t pay too much attention to the BusinessWeek recruiter ranking. It fluctuates so much each year it can’t be reliable.
