We were able to watch the game against Northwestern State last night on the Big Ten Network. Just my opinion, but Coach Crean is really a class act. After the game, he was shaking hands with students in the stands, members of the band, and then some older fans. The BTN commentators said he has brought back past players to talk to the team to try to instill in them the Hoosier tradition. Its obvious he's trying to build a new atmosphere and return IU's program to being one of integrity.

What a very nice change from the Sampson debacle.

Did IU win? Yes, Crean is a good choice for IU. He did well at MU and has a better platform at IU. It will take at least 3 years to get competitive again.

My feeling is that many alums feel as I do. Tom Crean was a very good choice after one that had many IU Bball fans shaking their heads in disbelief. IU fans have always prided themselves on a winning program that was relatively clean and graduated it's players. Many thought Sampson an odd choice and that proved true. (say what you will about Bobby Knight--his players graduated)

He understands the tradition of IU Bball and that's important to long time supporters. He knows the road is rocky, but he's done some great recruiting for next year with some major limits.

My H and S were thrilled with the choice of Crean. They had hoped he would be offered the job when Sampson was.
