<p>Hello everyone. I am new here on College Confidential, and I have already applied Early Decision to Cornell University (College of Arts and Sciences).</p>

<p>I am a first generation immigrant, and speak Russian fluently at home. My parents both graduated from the same Belarusian college with the equivalent of a masters degree in civil engineering.</p>

<p>I am told that my essays are not only very good, but communicate me as a person (a clown of sorts).</p>

<p>My guidance counselor tells me my chances are very good. What are my chances of getting in?</p>

<p>Most of your academic stats and your extracurricular’s (especially your international award) give you a good chance (>75%?) of getting accepted into Cornell ED. </p>

<p>Although a few of your test scores could be better, a solid essay will make up for this. </p>
