I've been selected for a... Candidate's Choice Application?

Today, Rensselaer sent me a letter offering me a Candidate's Choice Application. It says it "simplifies the entire admissions process, with a streamlined design that has fewer questions."

Under most circumstances I'd be flattered, but how did Rensselaer even get my name? I haven't shown any interest in the school, or any technical schools, for that matter.

haha well i received the same application from rennselaer and i haven't filled it out yet and they keep pestering me to. I think it's a match for me and i wouldn't mind going there.

I think they get your information from the student search services from SAT and ACT.

Do they offer it just because they like my SAT/ACT scores? Interesting.

Yes, i believe so. And perhaps it depends on what you select as your interested major.

a lot of schools do that...it's just a way to get better students into the school

Wait but my ACT score of 24 sucks and i have a 3.21 gpa. i have nothing to offer them but why did they send me this application?

well I guess they must have found out something about they liked :D Or that the process is more random that I thought it was
