hoodhopper; the purpose of life is to succeed and become powerful, and change the world. Most people's lives have no purpose.

so whats the purpose of life?

To love, to make the most out of life, and to try and make the world a more peaceful place.

WTH...how do you guys say that we believe without proof....

you guys are just overflowing with evidence right....

Mahras-I read the context that it was in and it was out of line. Besides, seeing as I know you are an atheist, cynic and against all people who use the word believe and the very idea of religion, it's fair for me to say these things. Just because you don't care about anything but yourself, doesn't mean its wrong for others to believe in something other than themselves.

And give up! I'm smarter hehe

When someone says science created the atomic bomb, s/he is saying that science is evil. Well guess what, we aren't living longer and are more healthy than our ancestors because people are praying more. Its because of scientific advancements. This is why I reversed the statement that religion leads the death so the other person realizes the inaccuracy of his/her statement.

And because you are a gullible, overly optimistic believer its fair for me to say such things. :)

qwilde: who says...where does this "love" come from...who taught man how to love...and dont say instinct because according to atheist...man is simply a culmination of an infinite cosmic order of chemical and phsyical reactions...

Religious people shouldn't use medicine!!! :)

As I said> SHOW ME EVIDENCE. show me some proof of an angel, a devil, a demon or random bearded dude walking on water.

The purpose of life is unknown to me, but more importantly, unknown to you. The fact that you believe your religion can give you that answer is ridiculous. The lord of the rings is as believable as half of the religious texts out there.

i dont believe in half of the religious texts out there. i believe in the bible : )

Who used the atomic bomb? It wasn't atheists. Generally, we don't believe in slaughtering 90,000 innocent children and women.

are you making fun of the lord of the rings? Frodo will smite you, dude!

political reasons arent religious reasons. Truman didnt say God told me to bomb the japanese....

"WTH...how do you guys say that we believe without proof....

you guys are just overflowing with evidence right...."

BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONE TRYING TO PROOVE THE EXISTENCE OF GOD/TRUTH OF RELIGION!! the burden of proof is on you. the worst part about this is we actually DO have more proof than you.

God is Santa Clause for GrownUps. (and apparently teenagers applying to Penn)

jyanks> Did you know that diseases can be cured by stuffing yourself in a room and praying for divine intervention? ITS TRUE I TELLS YOU! (j/k of course heh)

"i dont believe in half of the religious texts out there. i believe in the bible : )"

Oh I definitely meant the bible when I said that.

Mahras shut up :)

Okay, just as urbf w/e her name is said so uneloquently: God is omnipotent but we have will power. Therefore he gave us life and we are allowed to do with it what we want. See with that will power some of us chose to make atomic bombs (people like you) and some of us idealists try to make the world better (i.e. me). See praying won't save you but believing in something makes the difficult times easier.

Now kindly go screw yourself (am I allowed to say that?) you filthy heathen!

If god truly exists, he will intervene. I will give god ten minutes to provide us all proof of god's existence. If god does not respond god does either not want us to know god exists or does not exist. If god does not want us to know god exists then god does not exist, as gods are worthy or our worthship.

I AM A GUY. jeez.

the fact that you can type that message without thinking twice is proof that God exists

mahras2: scientific discoveries are parts of gods plan too. enough said.

your 2nd point doesn't make sense to me. the person who coined the term (max tucker..was it? ) big bang's now very much against the thoery. why can't god create universe in 6 days? because science shows it took billions of years? there are empirical evidences out there that supports science, and others that supports the creation theory. like i said, its as difficult to prove that god exists and taht he doesn't, and those two approaches won't even be the same.
