I've just wasted so much time....

I didn't realize that the Penn supplements had limits on them.

My faculty essay is 560 words
My Why Penn essay is 1400 words

This is really stressful because I really worked hard on these.
Is there any way I can still do these essays justice?

Exactly how long in terms of word counts is 1000 characters and 7900 characters?

Thank you.

Wow,
You either have a lot of passion, or you're being overly wordy.
The Why Penn essay doesn't really love much room for variety, and they expect everyone to have the same answer. People who don't probably get weeded out (like the ones who didn't do any research).
The faculty one is used for the same reason - primarily to see if you did research or not.

Argh..
I actually love my essays. I showed it to my english teacher and she said that it is not wordy at all. Its just really specific and has a lot of my own insights.

For the faculty essay, I actually researched the professor, read his articles/published journals, and offered my insight etc.

Penn is my dream school so I really did put in a lot into these essays

and now.. great..

do you think it'd be too snotty to call the admissions officer and ask if I can send these in as additional materials?

I limited my faculty essay to the space provided, but the Why Penn essay also gave you the option to upload a document, and my essay was just under 800 words. However, I kept it to one page.
