I've Made a Small Mistake on my Application...

I am freaking out
On my list of awards, I put down the wrong description for one of them!
This is what I put:
High School Division Karate Tournament 4th place- I ranked 3rd among top competitors. This was a statewide competition.

When actually it was:
High School Division Karate Tournament 4th place- I ranked 4th among top competitors. This was a statewide competition.

I worked really hard to get that recognition. Now it almost looks like I made up the award in the spot. What should I do?? Will they even catch it? I cannot even prove that I received 4th place since they stop giving trophies at 3rd place. I dunno why I put down 3rd place. HELP!!!

I would not worry too much about it.
Not much difference between a 3 or 4th rank to lie about. They will think it's a typo

Unless you're going to a school for Karate, they probably won't check what place you actually recieved.

1231: regular adm officers would not notice it, but if you are considering to join the karate team at school, the coach may notice it. perhaps you can e-mail the coach, if you are in contact with them.

Let me tell you what I did, I am freaking out also.

As soon as I hit the send button for an online app, I noticed a typo in my essay. That too on the name of the school I am sending the app to. That is really bad.

Mail a letter with a few sentences pointing out the error. That is what I was told when I had typo in the date of my AP exam. Put you name, address, SS# and date of birth at the top. Address it to the admissions office. They will put it in your file. No harm will come to you.

you guys are awesome. Thank you.
I hope it goes well for you momat. I heard Johns Hopkins have had so much of such errors that nowadays they consider it commonplace-
