I found out a couple days ago that I received a condtional appointment! However, according to my DoDMERB the vision in my left eye is only correctable to 20/30...does anyone know if this condition is waiverable? Thanks!

I would suggest you head over to serviceacademyforums.com and post this in the DoDMERB forum. Larry McMullen is pretty awesome and well connected to the DoDMERB process. He will request that you send him the last four digits of your SSN along with your question.

Good luck.

But I thought DoDMERB only reports the results, and that it is up to the CGA to grant waivers. Is that correct?

Waivers may be granted by the program to which youre applying, NOT DoDMERB.

The Service Academies automatically consider applicants for a medical waiver if they are competitive for admission.

Waivers are granted on a limited basis and with the best interest of the Coast Guard in mind.
