I've been taking many practice tests and I stay after school to talk with my teachers one on one to help me. I'm going through vocabulary flashcards like crazy and I've bought different books to help me review and give me strategies. I've taken about 8 practice tests, a PSAT and the offical SAT. I do the SAT question of the day from collegeboard.com and I also get emails from dictionary.com for the word of the day. I read difficult books, watch intellectual shows on T.V. and I even signed up for harder classes this year in school. I take a test and I get the same score and afterwards I go back and review questions to see why I got them wrong and somehow I'm not getting any better. I think I'm doing everything in my power to improve my score but nothing is happening.

Have you analyzed what you are missing? Is there anyone you could pay to meet with you and coach you for a few hours to review what you have done and perhaps make suggestions? Have you gone online to the SAT website or your school college website and worked on their online practice tests (where the answers are analyzed and categorized). Don’t give up! You are doing the right things. Are you a junior? If not, you’ve got time.

No, I’m a senior and I feel like I don’t have much time left. I have to start applying in a few months and I’m afriad I might burn myself out. I really don’t want to try and pay for someone but I’ll look into it. I look over my missed questions and review the formulas if needed. I think I understand things but apparently I don’t because I review another problem on a different test and get it wrong again. My writing is ok, I just really need to boost my critical reading and math.
