Went too a mediocre public school for my first two years and transferred to a smaller, but much better, catholic private school for my last two years. Class standing at first school... 8/334... at new school n/a (probably near 8/155)

Caucasian, from the deep south, first person in family to go to college out of my home state, upper middle income... what are my chances of being accepted to these schools?

WUSTL
Brown
Rice
Columbia
UPenn
Yale
Dartmouth
UVA (out of state)
Amherst
Williams
Vanderbilt
Auburn (in state)

Your activities are incredible. May I ask your rationale for applying to these colleges? Are you looking for a specific program? Competition could vary depending on what program you’re applying to. (Though overall you look like a very strong applicant to me)

im looking to major in biology and move into medical school… no specific program

sat on low side for ivies. fine for others

you sat scores are fine. the rest of your application more than makes up for what is anyway a very competitive SAT score. Besides - its your 2200 in one sitting

& if your a junior - im sure you can crack atleast around 2350 by the time you apply to college

bump…

Ivies will be tough.

Bump…

How can you be a NMF as a junior?

I’m projecting

Of course you’ll get into Auburn. Vandy is a match. UVA, Rice, and WashU are match, maybe a tiny reach. The others are all reaches, but I think you have a good shot at getting into at least one of them.

You’re looking solid. You really have a good chance at all of your schools, but certain schools are more unpredictable than others (these tend to be the ones that get the most applications).

WUSTL - good chance, but unpredictable
Brown - good chance
Rice - good chance
Columbia - good chance
UPenn - good chance, but unpredictable
Yale - same as UPenn
Dartmouth - good chance
UVA (out of state) - great chance
Amherst - great chance
Williams - great chance
Vanderbilt - in
Auburn (in state) - in

Keep up the awesome work, dude.

WUSTL - good chance, but try to improve your GPA for even better chance
Brown - good chance
Rice - great chance
Columbia - good chance
UPenn - good chance, but don’t know what they’re looking for; improve your GPA
Yale - same as UPenn
Dartmouth - good chance
UVA (out of state) - In!
Amherst - a very good chance
Williams - a very good chance
Vanderbilt - In
Auburn (in state) - In
