I feel my EC are really buff but my academics aren't as good. What you think?

Either way I'm not gunna quit! Thanks you guys!!

175 isn’t all that much, even without studying, so if you want to be in the running, make sure to study for the SAT. Aim for 2100+, with 700+ in each section. You should also try the ACT, some people are better at one of the two. While the Ivies do have holistic admissions, and a meh-ish score won’t automatically put you in the rejected pile, a good score won’t hurt at all.

I can’t say anything about your ECs, though. I think a good EC is one you love and put considerable time into, but I’m not an admissions officer. I think they do care about that, though, so if you can show that you’re passionate about those ECs, that will be a plus.

Also, being a URM will give you a slight hook.

Thank you, you were very helpful!

I’m going to study hard for those SAT’s now, and try to emphasize my passion:)

Gonna need atleast a 2250 for Ivy and other high end.
Also, a lot of people seem to think that simply having a big list of ECs is impressive. This is actually not the case. What you need is quality, not quantity. Try to mold your application to being strongly backed by a few ECs rather than loosely backed by many. Try to narrow down your application with essays and recommendations about the same few activities in order to illustrate what really interests you.

Thank you Fizz14:)

Would you recommend just more leadership positions rather than so many different clubs?
and/or am I just scattered in my passions you think?

Hmmm varsity volleyball, in California…maybe I’ve played you haha. Are you in NorCal or SoCal?

southern cali. South hills Vball haha
