ivy HELP!!!!

Heyy! How are you guys doing?I am a Pakistani and currently a high school sophomore.I want to get into yale or harvard or any ivy league or top college..The thing is that when i read about these colleges they also want you to take the most challenging courses.I think i have taken them but the probkem is that our school doesnt offer AP or IB classes.Getting in is obviously tough so I just want to ask you guys(who were accepted),what should i do?my current stats are:
Acadsmics:
4.0(unweighted) GPA
I have taken 10 subjects in which i have 10 A's,I have a high distinction in Maths(International),I have honors in Physics and Chemistry and English,French and Urdu(Language spoken in Pakistan).
My class rank is 1/110
I havent given the SAT but plan to give it next year.
Extracurricular:
Sub head of the academic department f my school
An editor in my school's magazine
In the starting eleven of my school's under 18 soccer team
I also have a gold medal for being the "player of the tournament" in a national soccer competition...
so far thats it

i have 2 summers in which i can build up my extracurriculars. What do you guys recommend

Just a short correction on your English, it is “taken” the SAT, not “given” the SAT

I would just submit it anyways. It is worth the shot, and you seem to have a strong record of academic background (that will make up for any weaknesses in classes)

^“Given” is actually the usual word to use with exams in Pakistan (it’s a spin off from British English); my suitemate is from Pakistan and she sometimes says “I gave a paper” instead of “I took an exam.” Anyway, to the OP, your record looks quite strong. I’m not sure how to comment on your extracurriculars because I am not familiar with the opportunities in Pakistan. All I know about my Pakistani suitemate’s academic background is that she went to one of the top high schools in the country and also had the toughest, largest courseload out of all the girls in her school.

would you mind asking her the name of the school?

Just follow your passions and you should be fine. Don’t do things for the sake of being accepted by a college. Ironically, people that do the former generally are accepted into the upper-tier colleges and people that do the latter generally are rejected.

^^St. Patrick’s

And don’t just go in with the attitude that you want to go to any top school. Harvard and Yale are both fine institutions, and lots of people have them both on their lists. But a school like UC Berkeley is dramatically different from Dartmouth, and usually a person would not like both. There are lots of excellent schools in the United States; even if they’re not in the Ivy League or US News Top 25.

^^ i’ve applied this year from a similar school. do you happen to know her sat score? that would really help me estimate my chances. thanks. :)

If you do happen to get a medal on the IMO, you stand a good chance

@livorneo: :open_mouth: whoa, really? O_O gosh, that’s interesting. i wonder why its like that o-o curious
