How does athletic scholarships work in the Ivy League? I know top athletics get scholarships but what major do they study in? Can they study any major they want? If not then what major do they study. Finally, do Ivy League schools give out rugby scholarships? Thank you.
- There are no Ivy League athletic scholarships, per se (although need-based FA is provided to some student-athletes).
- There are no dedicated -- or restricted -- majors for student-athletes.
- There is an "Ivy Rugby Conference," but it is not formally affiliated with the Ivy League (http://www.ivyrugby.com)
No sports scholarships for Ivy athletes. However, they do get fabulous summer jobs. Roone Arledge and Chet Forte made sure there were many Columbia athletes working at the offices of ABC TV sports. The players often get intern jobs on Wall Street, too.

Need-based aid, as defined by each Ivy, is given to all domestic students whether they are student-athletes or not.
@fenwaypark (re post #3): Of course, my post #1 certainly never suggested otherwise.
HPY have the best need-based FA.
