Ivy League Counting Test Scores from Freshman/Sophomore Year

Hey everyone,

I'm a current junior who took my standardized tests freshman year, did well enough on them that I'd like to use them for college. However, I have repeatedly heard rumors that colleges will only use standardized test scores from junior and senior year of high school; my guidance counselor is now suggesting I retake my SAT subject tests, which I got 800s on. Before I needlessly waste this time and money, has anyone else heard similar things from counselors/admissions? I called Princeton admissions and they confirmed they would only take scores within 2 years, but other colleges have said different things... Please help!

I have not heard this. You might want to check with the schools in question. That said, my SAT subject tests were from freshman and sophomore year, and I was just accepted to an Ivy.

Which one? I called Princeton and they said my scores from freshman year were “too old”… however, I’m not sure whether they will still consider them in admissions?
