How much do SAT/PSAT/ACT scores from pre-junior year count for?

I'm pretty sure the "talent program" SATs taken in middle school are useless for college admissions.

What about taking the ACT/PSAT/SAT freshman or sophomore year? Can these be used for college admissions?

My friend and I (by some strange stroke of luck), scored really well on these tests this year (we're both freshmen). One of us got a 35 on the ACT and the other got a 227 on the PSAT (gosh, if only this were junior year).

Are these scores "wasted"?

The ACT score can be salvaged, b/c a 35 is amazing, but the sophomore PSAT means nothing...you have to do well on it only in junior year....most colleges like to see the standardized test scores when you are in either 11th or 12th grade though

You would have to ask the specific college

A kid from my school got a 36 and a 1600 in his sophomore year and he used those scores, but they are perfects nonetheless... so the 35 might count too

i took satII math iic and SAT this year (sophomore) - 800 and 2220 (800m690cr730w) and i am not taking them again

the ACT u can keep,
and congrats on the amazing psat score but u have to take it again. i know, it sucks
