I applied to all the ivies in December 2018. Should I be worried that I haven’t gotten any interviews from any of them except Princeton?
Hey! This is late, but I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Not getting an offer for an interview isn’t an indication of the strength of your application (likely, they haven’t had the chance to read it yet) but rather, they probably didn’t have alumni/admissions officers available in the area to interview.
I wouldn’t worry much. I know plenty of my friends who had no hooks and interviews but got accepted.
@ItsComingHome Are you talking random hjgh school friends or the more rare actual admitted students?
High school friends who had ivy-deserving stats,ECs but no hooks, interviews as mentioned and went on to get admitted.
You must go to a great school. Our great public in a affluent suburb is lucky to place one or two at Cornell or a brown now each year. Then too Lacs come into play. Not “a lot of friends” is possible —unless they were friends gathered over ten year’s of admits.
But I agree with the premise that the interview won’t matter.
Many interviewers report few if any of their “interviewees” ever get in and think perhaps it’s a waste of time.
They do it only to maintain a potential legacy hook for their kids or they are more recent grads with lots of school spirit.
Sometimes it depends if there are any ivy Alumni living in your area.
