Ivy material? Please and Thanks! =D

I'm really having trouble deciding whether or not I have a chance at the ivies. Here are my stats. I want to major in microbiology research. Please chance me for UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCLA, and all eight ivies. THANKS!

9th- 11th Academic UW GPA is 3.68 with gradual improvement. Our school does not weigh GPA. I'm not expecting that much of a difference including senior grades.

All math, science, english, and history courses are honor or AP.

I took a total of 5 AP classes and 6 AP tests.
AP Euro 4
AP Chemistry 5
AP US History 4
AP Chinese 5
AP Calculus AB 5
AP Biology (outside school) 4
This year I am taking Calculus BC and English 4 AP.

Sat Score- 2100
Sat II: Biology 770, US History 730, Chinese 790, Chemistry 720. I'm expecting to get close to 800 for Math IIC this November.

EC's
Piano achievements:
World Piano international piano competition 3rd place.
In the Southwestern Youth Music Festival- 1st place in Open Solo (2007), 1st place in Open Chopin, 2nd place in Open Ensemble and Young Pianist (2008), and 3rd place in Open Concerto category.
Others- 1st at the Cypress College Competition, being chosen as a winner in both the MTAC State Panel I and II exams with Branch Honors and Convention performance, and 2nd place for the complete works audition in the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.

I dont know if these are important, but- concerts in the Santa Monica College Concert Hall for Los Angeles Honor Chamber Music Recital and in Schumei Hall in Pasadena, a concerto and solo concert with the Shanghai music school orchestra in Shanghai, concerts in Taiwan, and a World Piano winner's concert in Carnegie Hall.
Some other random thing- National Geographic Kids Photo of the Month xD

Have done at least 4 monthly performances at the local senior retirement homes. In 2008 organized and hosted Concert of Hope and we raised over $5,000 for the earthquake victims in China.

Interned for 2 full summers at the PEER Center of Caltech, involved in a joint research project at California Institute of Technology for a novel concept of surfactants in 2007. Was the team leader for a project submitted to Siemens researching the oxidation of glucose to CO2 in mice, won semifinalist.

100 community service hours participating in the Long Beach Dragonboat festival, more hours (I havn't calculated) from community concerts, research at Caltech and such. But I am expecting to receive at least 200.

Not a lot of school clubs (I was not an active member), but Evergreen and Racquet Club. Out of school, 2 years of the Solar Car Club.

I consider myself a good essay writer. The problem is, I havn't started yet because of indecision and lack of time =(

This is all I can think of for now, please chance me! Thanks so much.

Consider Oberlin College & Yale University. Brown also. Northwestern has a School of Music if you are willing to audition.

Thanks a lot! But are those schools still in my options if I don't plan to study music?

bump... 10char

you have really asian ECs
ur sat score is decent and sat2s are ok
damn that 790 in chinese must have been a disappointment
w/e same thing happened to me for physics 790 is the worst grade to get other than a 300... lol
but. since ivies are looking for rele out lier ppl, u have a shot. but u have to emphasize ur ecs cuz u wont win in a stats war

lol @ applying to all 8 ivies..

what does @ mean?

@= at.
thanks for opinions, I know I have some "asian" ec's... but I hope I can stand out.
@ llpitch, what do you mean? I'm not sure if I should even apply to any ivies... my GPA is really killing me. People are saying how EC's have to be outstanding; is this outstanding or close at all?

If you plan to major in microbiology research, then Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland & Rice Univ. in Houston, Texas are good choices. WashUStL & Duke University are worth considering.

your stats aren't great for ivies. but WOW Your piano ec's! i'm impressed. a guy i know got into harvard, his gpa wasnt great and neither were his sat's but he was great at piano.

whooh, you've performed in Carnegie Hall?! That's one of the "big hooks"(like RSI, TASP, published, recruited atlete)

Good change, I guess, at all Ivies, but not stellar, maybe, say, 25/30 percent at Harvard (which, I reckon, is a lot!)

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it.

wow.... im gonna have to disagree with some of the other posters here.

i honestly think you stand a great chance at the ivies, ESPECIALLY because your ecs show some serious passion. good luck!

I;m interested to know what the "World Piano international piano competition" was.

^ BTW, I agree. I think your ECs make you stand out.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys :D
@ hieronymus312- World piano competition at Cincinnati. I think you can google it.
