Ivy-prone???

I am interested in studying economics and finance in college, but it seems like most schools that offer these (business programs) are non-ivy league schools (with an exception of UPenn and very few others)..

Am I missing out on something??

Every Ivy league school offers economics. If you actually want to work in high finance (Wall Street), your major doesn’t really matter as you will still be recruited as long as you attend an Ivy/peer. If you’re looking for actual business programs that can land you investment banking/consulting jobs, look at NYU Stern and Michigan Ross.

Business is at
Wharton
Columbia
Cornell

almost half the ivy league and I wouldn’t be suprised if you could make a finance major at brown.

Columbia has no undergraduate business program. In the Ivy League, only Cornell (Dyson in the College of Agriculture and Life Science) and Penn (Wharton) offer undergraduate programs in business. Perhaps you are referring to Columbia’s Financial Engineering major, which is just another way of saying Industrial Engineering. Princeton also offers a similar major, but it is not the same as a business major.

That being said, a degree in any major from any of the Ivy League will open many doors.

If the OP is keen on Business as a major, below are some top universities that offer undergraguate business programs.

Boston College
Carnegie Mellon University
Cornell University
Emory University
Georgetown University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
New York University
University of California-Berkeley
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Notre Dame
University of Pennsylvania
University of Southern California
