Is there any truth that Ivy's must release decisions on March 29th at 5:00?

Can someone elaborate?

Thanks

It's part of the Ivy pact so that one school has an advantage over another because their applicant pool overlaps a lot.

I know the March 29th is there, but the after 5pm is just to stop people from calling the admissions offices.

Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, Yale, and apparently Brown (saw it on CC, but have heard elsewhere that they don't) send likely letters to the top few applicants in February/March. It helps yield rates apparently. All Ivys send likely letters to athletes. They are not official acceptances, but if you have ridiculously amazing stats, you would have received one of these informal acceptances.

Dear Jeffrey,

Thank you for your application for Dartmouth's Class of 2011.

We are now in the final stages of our decision making process, and will soon be notifying you of our decision on your candidacy. Decision letters will be mailed on Thursday, March 29. An electronic version of your decision letter will be posted on this page after 5 pm Eastern Time on Thursday, March 29. It will be available until April 5.

We appreciate your interest in Dartmouth.

Sincerely,

The Dartmouth Admissions Staff

tis true...
the only acceptions to this rule are Cornell's ILR, Hotel, and CALS, and Penn's Nursing program. These have rolling.. though Cornell seems to be pretty much done with its rolling and the ones who have not heard yet will hear the 29th... Penn put up their nursing decisions a while ago, but I'm not sure if they have finished all of them.

yea, all ivies should be posted at 5PM 3/29, although there may be some deviations (such as 5:30 PM), but that's probably just to cover all bases

ahhh...I prob. will not manage to sleep the night before..too nervous
