This is for a friend's daughter. Do many kids transfer from one Ivy to anotherl. I know they all have different focuses and are NOT alike, despite being lumped as "Ivys". If someone found Cornell too big and remote, what is the likelihood of getting into Brown or Yale as a transfer? Or-the reverse. If someone didn't like the big city atmosphere/pre-professionalism of Penn, what are the chances of getting into Brown or Dart?
Any ideas of the acceptance rates?

Yale has a transfer accepance rate of about 3 percent. Penn is about 12 percent, Dartmouth about the same, and Brown has flucuated drastically in recent years.

Which way has Brown fluctuated and what have the percentages been?
Thanks.

they've been higher - around 20% in the past. Went down considerably (how much exactly I don't know but I imagine it's 8-10% last year).

Where is she transferring from? That's a pretty big deal actually. Someone trying to go to Harvard from Yale will have an easier time than someone trying from Cornell.

went from apx 24% to apx 5% last year (60/1200 is what an admissions counselor told me, I think...)

Any chance it will go back up?

I guess my question was more whether it is very unusual to transfer from one Ivy to another. Does it appear suspect?

No. I believe most of the transfers to ivies are from top schools or other ivies.
