<p>Are middle distance runners (400m/800m/1600m) in demand in the ivys? i know this varies year to year, and from school to school.. but in general, is there a short supply of them? compared to distance/xc guys? or are they about equal..?

<p>Probably less so than other track event athletes, because kids from the cross country roster will transition into the 1500 and possibly even the 800. Sprinters can also cover the 800. In fact, on D’s team they moved a 200/400 runner up to the 800 last year and she was very successful.</p>
