I can’t believe I made it this far and now the only thing standing between me and my first choice school is if I get thuis scholarship. I just hope I know before May 1st. I have a good back up but the school I want is out of reach without this scholarship. For me to get this would be a miracle and the not knowing is killing me. I haven’t heard anything from JKCF since January so I think that is a bad sign.
I called the office and was just told that decisions should be out before May 1st. She said they are telling everyone to just keep checking their emails. Already doing that.

Hey did anyone notify UC’s that they were a semi finalist? I am kinda bummed that I didn’t notify them as this is a prestigious scholarship
I did. It may have helped with two schools not sure. My first choice won’t be possible if I don’t get this scholarship. The wait is torture, because I just want to make a decision.
Did anyone receive any further emails from the Foundation? Apparently last year, they sent out emails asking for college acceptances/financial aid information.
@ticktacktoe Who sent the emails out last year? Where they sent out to all the semi finalist or just certain ones?

@CourtneyThurston when you were in the competition for the scholarship, did you have to send them your acceptance letters and financial aid letters before you were named a winner? If so, Who do the email come from? The scholarship committee or the foundation in general, or were you were young scholar and it came from your educational advisor? Just wondering since TicTacToe mentioned that in the past they sent out emails asking for this. Thanks

No. I applied and never heard back until they called to tell me that I won.

Anyway they may be doing things slightly differently this year. I just wanted to check, but it’s aight. We will found out soon enough anyway 
Hi. I was wondering if anyone else had a section under their account page that says “scholar information”? I cannot remember if it was there before and now I’m (lowkey) panicking. I have no hope that I’ll get this and haven’t received a notification yet.

I see it! Hopefully it’s good news but it probably doesn’t mean anything.
If you log into your jkcf account, go on the top right and click Account. It should be on that page in between “Account Information” and “Notification” and there’s a link there that takes you to another thing to fill out (some of the info is already filled out, I clicked through the fields but didn’t add anything)
I don’t see it. 
This makes me nervous. What does the scholar information page say… I don’t know why they would only put that information on some. Has to be the scholars selected.
