i wish more taxi drivers would flirt with me. i am one of those people that pretend to be checking my “stocks” or “email” when i’m in the car or sometimes ask the obligatory questions like “so how long have you been an uber driver?”
have you ever flagged down a taxi and then told the driver you were just stretching? i am very shy like that. when i landed at washington dulles international airport for scholar’s weekend, i avoided boarding the shuttle to the convention center because i was so shy, and caught the last one.

I think it is important to remember that a correlation does Not mean cause and effect. For example, when there is an increase in ice cream sales, the amount of deaths by drowning also increase. Just because these correlate does not mean that one causes the other, the other variable is that they both happen when it is hot out, more people buy ice cream and go swimming. Just because there is a high rate of ptk members that become jkc scholars does not mean one influences the other. The other variable here Could Be simply that the demographic of students are applying to become both.

@LitMajor1107 yes I know this… that is why I am confused for the congratulations of me winning. I mean, I have never even posted my name on this message board, so I do not know how someone would 1 know who I am or 2 know if I won an award that is not being announced until next week. So confused, though I understand it was a nice congrats, just don’t know what it was for 
The idea about the PTK event was a simple theory that someone proposed.
Okay, guys. This thread is not a place to put people down or argue. Remember that we are all supposed to be the best of the best. That includes having a strong moral character. It is seriously disappointing to see unnecessary arguing and bickering between each other when we should be building each other up. If we want to compare qualities and/or qualifications, we should all be capable of doing so in a respectful manner.
What do we know/suspect?
-We should know our status within the next couple of weeks.
-Although in previous years the school representative has had the opportunity to inform recipients prior to them receiving a call from the foundation and others received an email, I think someone was told that we were ALL going to receive an email despite our final status? (Can anyone verify this?)
Side note - I’m getting extremely excited, yet nervous, about the next couple of weeks.
Side note #2 - FOCUS ON FINALS, guys! Despite the possible outcomes, we still have control over our current situation!

Sadly, I can’t even take the good advice from @Auggie95 to focus on finals because I’m not a student at the moment. But thankfully, my job takes up most of my brain space during the day and it’s only the quiet evenings that I wonder how long early April will drag on before I finally know my fate. And before we dredge up the “when are they going to tell us?!?!” topic again, I’m referring to the original dates on the website FAQ because no, I have not called or emailed the foundation. And according to @ForestryGuy that means I’m more than likely totally a winner.
@muffinpoptarte maybe the congrats was for the New Century Scholar? I think you did mention that a few pages back… and that you were President of Psi Beta at SDCC. All you need is a few bits of info like that and google you can figure out who people are. In fact, with some super internet sleuthing, I have a good guess at who @nekozuki is in real life which is information that I’m sure @optimisticky will be interested in. Woah, that all sounded much more creepy that I intended.
Auggie95, what was that about an strong moral character ? I think that allusion was kind out if the plate. Moreover, being selected as semifinalist for this scholarship doesn’t make you the best of the best, if you make what you are a semifinalists for the JKC foundation. There tons of great college students out there. And I don’t think that anyone is bringing anyone else down.

lol for the kind of posts Ive seen in this site, if some people don’t get choose as finalists for the scholarship, they will have a very profound nerve collapse. It is time to evaluate reality and enjoy life, not for what it is to become but for what we are allowed to do now. If all you will allow yourself is to dream, that is ok, but always remember, dreams are just that, dreams. Live the moment, but never forget, we belong to reality!
