Jackets at UM

Hi guys, my name's Max. I'm from New York City. You thus might be able to tell that I'm familiar with the cold, but not the COLD as Michigan knows it.
I'd like a bit of help. Generally, when the winter months come in I don a long sleeve shirt and peacoat, but I know that's not going to fly up there. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to know about it.

Go Blue!

P.S. Nothing too puffy, if possible.

You’ll need a proper down jacket during the winter, I use North Face. It gets very cold in AA.

Yeah I’ve been getting that sense, thanks! Anything else? Windbreakers, etc?

If you get a windbreaker combined with your jacket you should be fine. I have a double layer windbreaker North Face and it works very well in the Michigan winters.

I just have to add that the Michigan winters really aren’t that bad unless you’re further up north. If the trend from the last few years continues it won’t get too cold until January and even then just a peacoat works well.

Unless you’re rolling around in the snow or spending excessive amounts of time outdoors you should be fine with what you have.

seriously michigan is not any more north than NY. We can get lake effect snow sometimes but we’re nothing like the northeast from what ive heard of it (my friend from boston says our winters are mild comparatively). You’ll be fine.
