@kindfine maybe they have to interview the first round? Maybe some won’t show up, maybe some won’t meet the income requirements. Just enjoy the rest of senior year. No sense in worrying yourself. It does us no good and gives us wrinkles. Is the scholarship needed for college tuition? Or is it an extra bonus?

All applicants should be notified of there status by the end of today. The lady I called said that if you don’t get notified by today you should call them on monday.

Great. Does that include those who had interviews? That was fast!

@captainchin Do you mean even the people who had their interviews? Are they announcing scholars? Have any one been notified as Scholars?

I’m pretty sure it’s for the people who got that email that said their applications moved onto the next stage.

Has anyone heard anything today?

Rejection this morning. Figures. Lol.

lol same here

Have finalists been notified? The websites states that all semi-finalists will know something by 6/15.

DD had an interview last month, still no word!

Same for my son. Wish they would announce winners or explain delay. Silence is nerve wrecking.

It’s my understanding that the decision “by” date has been changed to 6/30.

Yes, DD received an email this morning. We are not expecting any good news. Applying for these big scholarships has been a big waste of time and lots of frustration. There are so many students with need these days, her FA package at Yale is amazing but she was really looking forward to the mentoring piece the JRF program.

On another note, she was not picked for the Ron Brown Scholarship either, we learned recently that this young man was! I hope he finds great success in life.

I know what you mean. However I am of the mindset to expect the unexpected. You just never know with these things. We’re not overly optimistic either, but until he receives a reject letter, we’re gonna assume that there is a chance. I wish you the best of luck. As for the RBS winner - all I can say is WOW! THAT is some against all odds story. God Bless Him!

You ain’t lying! Some story is right.

Decisions are being communicated. My son is a 2014 Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar! #blessed Anyone else hear back yet?

Not a winner…I’m know the finalists are deserving and will have amazing success in the future! Congratulations!!!

Thanks. We’re pretty excited and needless to say, grateful. Best of luck to you and your daughter. She’s headed to Yale with a good aid package, which has her at an advantage over many. I’m certain she’ll identify mentoring opportunities over her 4 years as well.

Absolutely! We have definitely learned how to seek out programs and mentors. In some pretty interesting places. Where is your son matriculating to in the fall?

Around what date did your son have his interview? Did the Foundation pay for the trip? @CMM731
