Jack's Valley

i have only one: don't do blue! lol

May I remind you that hornet was the one who "introduced" you to all of BCT group staff during orientation. :P

On another note, I'll be curious to see how long it takes for the permanent party to "outlaw" cadating this year.

Ah...I think Hornet has the hots for redhead....jealous Hornet of her "cadating?"

Nah, hornet knows better than to mess with Frat. Did any of you 3 degrees get any good smokers today?

my 4 digs had homemade rice krispee treats... they were amazing

Too bad they don't sell generic brands in the c-store. I'm too cheap to buy good smokers each week :)

I'll bite what are smokers?

on fridays, its tradition for 4 digs to bring something to the lunch table, such as cookies, soda, chips and salsa/cheese, etc. if its "good enough" for the upperclassmen at the table, then the 4 digs get to sit at ease or at rest for that meal

Mine brought chips, queso, and beef jerky. Bad day for smokers since we had chicken strips, but the chips with queso were great!

cadating makes me shiver. lol

Haha, the 1st group 1st Sergent just sent out a nasty-gram about the horrible Mitchel hall decorum--specifically disgusting to him were cadating, smokers, and ping-pong... He then went on to comment that AMTs aren't here to babysit, but teach "wayward young men and women" about being officers.

hum, I'm afraid that my part of first group seemed to have missed that. hum.

so isnt cadating 'legal' as long as it isnt w/ a 4dig? or whats the policy on it?

ping pong in mitch's? lol..

and, why are smokers disgusting? if its a tradition..... hm

"smokers disgusting" a good leader should never put themselves in a position were they could be seen as taking something from a subordinate. Buying favor at the table with an acceptable treat. I can understand both positions the smokers bond the table, but they could also be seen as taking advantage of those under your charge.

It's important to note that smokers are not required. They are voluntary...but highly encouraged...:)

haha, g4c seems like he doesnt mind it :) i see both sides of it, although i personally dont think that (as long as its not.. blatant) smokers are such a bad thing. but idk, im not there

I am sure it is good fun, and I have heard First Group Hurts...Poor Potterfan, but if you learn the lessons right the first time hopefully you won't repeat them. Hopefully the SAMI wont mistreat to many of the CC 4Digs

so which group seems to be the most "lenient" and which is the most strict? same question for squadrons too... lets see what we can get outta this :)

The cadating I'm referring to is lunch dates, where a 4 dig is encouraged to go find a "date" from another squad and have lunch with them (at rest, of course). Ping-pong is where the upperclassmen get a 4 dig to go to some location where another upperclassmen will tell them to go straight back (then repeat the process). I've never seen ping-pong at lunch, so it seems odd to me that it would happen at Mitch's.

Generally, first group is the strictest. Second and fourth group are fairly chill, except for a couple squads. 24 is known for being tough, 14 and 8 are fairly chill.

25 is a really chill squad. As long as we have our crap in order, we don't get in too much trouble; the upperclassmen are pretty reasonable and you'll get a feel for who you can joke around with on occasion if appropriate and who the more stract people are. As far as smokers, they aren't a requirement, but most 4 degrees like the tradition so we do it anyways. It's not like we're beaten into spending all of our money to feed the upperclassmen just so that we can chill out for a few minutes. :) Friday lunches are actually a lot of fun. This week, we had a movie trivia competition at my table and whoever lost (the upperclassmen or the four degrees) had to buy the smokers. Needless to say, we were wrong because we are four degrees and hence we lost but I'm always happy to get a package of double stuffed oreos and chips. :) And as for Mitchell Hall cadating, it's just something upperclassmen tell the four degrees to do because it's a source of entertainment. They'll send them out to bring a girl back to the table and then you get to eat at rest. It's actually a really nice deal when it happens during the week. On Fridays, though, it's insane! There are a lack of girls here, so don't be surprised if you have seven guys come up to you in the space of two or three minutes when you first walk into Mitch's. Dun dun dun... ;)

hahaha.. crazy usafa. it sounds like a ton of fun, with all the traditions and such.. when do you think would be a good time to come tour the place, so i can be a part of the "touri" crowd on the wall? lol
