Hello! After researching a bunch of different scholarships JESS really intrigues me. I'm from New York and I've never been to the West Coast. I think what attracts me to the scholarship is (if accepted) you get the opportunity to see the campus and I'll get a chance to see if you really do like California, the area, etc. However, I was curious when you had to put down your deposits and what not once accepted with JESS (Basically when do you have to tell them if you're going or not). The fact that you are applying early kind of makes me believe that it's early decision and I haven't fallen 100% in love with any colleges to do that yet.

Don’t worry, it is not at all early decision! All you have to do is get your application in early so that they can make decisions about who will be invited to visit the school in February. Being invited to visit the school isn’t a guarantee that you’ll get the JESS, and they haven’t told you your accepted to the school at that point either (though it seems to be implied). An acceptance (or rejection) letter would be mailed at the same time as regular decision applicants and your deposit would be expected on the same date.
