I’m a prospective Madison student and I am interested how the professors stand? I. E. Are a majority of them liberal or conservative, are they tolerant and respectful? Or do they push ideologies onto students?
Thanks!

I am a current James Madison student. I would definitely say that the majority of the college, including professors is liberal. That being said, I would generally say professors and students are respectful and tolerable of conservative students and while a minority, conservative students certainly do exist. The curriculum is definitely presented with a leftward lens, but students are encouraged to question everything… including professors and course readings.
Hi there, I’m a student at JMC and honestly it depends on your major and the types of classes you take. Your political theory and constitutional classes have a more conservative lens where as social relations and policy and comparative cultures and politics courses by their nature are taught from the left. International relations seems to be a mix.
