<p>I've heard stories of people locking themselves in their rooms and squeezing out essays over winter break on dec 31....but if a counselor is supposed to send out your applications, how can you finish them over winter break and still have them in for the January 1st deadlines?</p>
<p>The student portion is due on Jan 1. What comes from the school has some leeway.</p>
<p>Simple: just don't procrastinate and do your essays on Dec 31. Learn a lesson from those "people" you hear about.</p>
<p>true, but that makes me wonder why they wouldnt just move the deadline to dec 23rdish because most schools arent in session around the new year..</p>
