jk…I wish I had an Audi.

Lol, you’re the one that brought up the car in the first place and posted a freakin picture of YOURSELF in the car. lmao. And they aren’t attacks, just observations. :)

I’m not saying that a highly ranked college isn’t any good. Clearly it is. But what I’m saying is that when it comes to life, a SAT score or even the college you attend isn’t going to matter in the long run.

yea i realize u never said that they werent good; it takes a crazy person to deride HYPMSC for their qualities.

that being said, I’d also reject that “it will pan out the same in the long run” because that simply isnt true

in the recruiting process from law or business schools, u’d only have to be in the top 50% (still, a trick of the highest order :D) of ur Harvard class

in contrast, u’d have to be in the top 10% or even the top 5% of ASU to be considered

of course, you could have a 4.0 in ASU because i dont know if college grades go higher, but that still may not qualify you.

then, as a harvard admissions officer, what looks more impressive to you?

an undergraduate who attended UPenn, or one who attended ASU?

the mere fact that UPenn is widely considered more impressive goes to show that there is a difference

and that difference is hugggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeee

P.S. nice choice on the A4

Perhaps not, but it still isn’t smart to post a picture of yourself on an online forum open to the public.

@1253729
That’s sharp. ;)

Edit: the car lol, and yes I know.

An ad hominem attack is an attack directly against the character of another person. It is short for argumentum ad hominem (literally argument against person).

honestly, i think we should all just chill…we’re getting our sats soon, and we dont need to be arguing about stupid stuff

and thnx for the def.

I brought it up because it was germane to my point. The picture I posted as proof and further clarification.

Your observational work needs skills. I suggest you do not pursue a field which centers around any empiric ideas.

@ayushtamin
It alleviates a little stress. jkkk.

You are way off at least as far as law schools are concerned. A 4.0/178 LSAT from ASU would be admitted to Harvard Law School WAY, WAY before a 3.5/178 LSAT from Harvard undergrad. That is assuming all soft factors are the same of course.

Agreed sir.

@invisible…ya i guess…but i gotta say Lannister has a good vocab, better than mine.

I don’t see how it was at all relevant. It looked like an excuse to brag. And no one asked for proof, and if you wanted to provide further clarification, you would have just posted a stock photo, not a picture that you’re in.

Why thank you; I think the car gets me from Point A to B pretty well. I just need a license now (44 more days)! Sometimes I hate the strict laws CT has with regards to when you can get your license.

ok yea but thats like saying the Knicks Gm would resign jonathan bender before he signed lebron james who had his leg amputated over the summer (hope i didnt jinx him)

what about 4.0/790 GMAT from Harvard undergrad vs 4.0/790(or even 800) GMAT from ASU?

i dont mean to make ad hominem attacks vs ASU, but harvard’s status advantage over ASU is definitely germane

wooooo for new words
(kidding, knew them)

Don’t know why we’re arguing about this…it’s bad karma for scores :)

@ayushtamin,

lol yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, haha.

And alright, I’m done. :)

Dudes, calm down.

Well Dr. Watson, may I ask you for what reason would I need to brag about my new car to a group of strangers whom I have never, nor will ever meet? I got my bragging out of the way on facebook.

The “lies, it’s all lies” posts were sure to follow my posting of a stock photo so I thought I should preempt all of that.

I see nothing wrong with posting a picture of my own car, when that was the subject of our discussion.

Of course the guy from H would get in first. But you know for a fact that a 4.0 is almost impossible to get at H. I believe 5 or 6 people in H’s history have gotten a 4.0. So one can actually make an argument that it would be easier for you to be successful (If you define success as getting into grad school) if you go to ASU.
