***January 2014 - Math Level 2***

Yes I do. I’m currently a junior

@weiyourenma: If you have ten data values of 50 the standard deviation will be zero. Standard deviation is how much each data point differs from the average of the data points. Average is 50; data points are all 50. Therefore, the data points differ by 0 from the average. A 43/50 for an 800 would be an extremely generous curve, but it’s possible. Hopefully that’s what it is :D

@CallMeJonah: this exam was easier than the one I took in December 2013. In the last one, I got a 750, but the exam was HARD. This one was, in my opinion, fairly less complicated, but I don’t think I got an 800. I have a shot at a perfect score, but if I missed one of the ones I answered, that’s out.

x^2+y^2=1
for that question what did x-y = ?

also how did u figure out that question with S1, S2, S3 and Mn and Sn

i think the answer for that was 0

A set with all of the same numbers has the lowest standard deviation, since all of the numbers are the same as the mean; the standard deviation is 0. :)

@weiyourenma Sorry, I wasn’t being clear about the standard deviation question. I didn’t mean that there was one value in the set but rather multiple values in the set that are all the same number (ie. {8, 8, 8, 8, 8} not just {8}).

@ders12 x-y is less than -1 i’m pretty sure and i got 0 for the second

@loltired how did u get that to be 0

Well it asked for the highest number in each set and then asked for the lowest number out of all of the highest numbers

UGH i read it wrong i thought it said lowest number in total!!! ■■■■■■■■■■■■■

hey guys what did u get for the cheese question
the second part to that question

I thought it was ok? I omitted ~ 3, so assuming I didn’t screw up too many others, I should be ok. (Omitted that one quartile q, the plane thing and the sets thing).

I’m pretty sure you can get up to 6 questions wrong and maintain an 800.

I thought that cos^2 question was pretty clever.

The cos^2 question was pretty clever but I just went over that in my math class so I def got it. What was the cheese question?

For me, it seems that I omitted 3 and got 2 wrong. Hopefully, I’m still in the running to get a 800.

How man wrong for a 750

It depends. How many did you omit? A raw score of 38 is a 750 (info from CB).

the cheese one was where it was cooling and then it asked which of the 3 statements were true??
and also the function question where it asked which 3 were functions…was it all 3 or just 2

I omitted none but I was just wondering if with a curve the raw score may be lower. Also, does the curve ever exceed 43 raw score for 800

The answer to the question with the M1,M2,etc. was definitely negative…

It asked for the lowest number from each set then out of those numbers, it asked for the lowest number. 0 was in the set but there was also a negative number.
