***January 2014 - Math Level 2***

To anyone who has taken math 2 before, how’d this one compare? What sort of student do you consider yourself? If you’ve taken the SAT before, how’d you do? I ask because hearing a test was easy from a kid with a 2380 makes me react differently than does hearing the same from a kid with a 1900.

I took it before and scored 640 back in 2012. I am a really good student but I did not really study and we had never covered some of the topics before. Therefore, I found this one relatively easy (still won’t score 800 for sure). It may be because I actually prepared this time and also understood it. And my SAT was low. And I mean low, not Ivy League low.:P

Was that divisor question towards the end of the test?

why can’t the standard deviation question be the 4 bars with equal values

The standard deviation question asked which one had a standard deviation of 0. The means that the data set could not have any numbers that deviated from the average, so there could only be the same number in the set. Choice A was the only data set that consisted of numbers of equal value, 8, whih is why there was just one column…

you can’t calculate standard deviation from only 1 value; try it on ur calculator and u will get no value at all

Standard deviation means deviation from the right answer. If 4 numbers were 20, that means that the average was 20. There is no numbers that are different than 20 so, the standard deviation is 0. This is what you want to have, so the answer was the one with only one bar.

yes, but ur data set has to have more than one value

oh maybe i misread the question…

Yeah, you probably did. At least you read the question… I forget to read number 50 :((

do you think 43/50 would be an 800 on this test?

It’s possible. We have to wait and see what the curve is. Is 43 your raw score?

Just a question but should I cancel a score below 750? I got 9 wrong and idk what the curve will look like?

43 is my score after the .25 reductions

Then, you still have a chance. Purified, Trust your heart. If you are not pleased with how you did, then cancel the score. :)>-

Thanks Hawkace.

Has any math 2 curve been higher than a raw score of 43 for 800?

does canceling the score do anything? could you just not send the score?

Some colleges don’t participate in the score choice. So for those colleges, you have to send in all SAT II and I scores.

Exactly so I don’t want to harm my chances with a low score.

I’m hesitating just cause my raw socre is a 39 idk if a made more dumb mistakes

Do you have time to retake it? I assume you are not a senior then?
