****JANUARY 2015 SAT THREAD (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS).****

@oz4nss could you explain why it’s metaphor? cuz i was so confused and all of the choices didn’t make any sense to me… i omitted and i really don’t get it

Anyway, does 1 mistake affect your score? Its still an 800, I believe? Or will the curve hit me in the face?

Cheers everyone. This has been alot of fun. Do tell your scores once they are out. :slight_smile:

google college panda sat calculator and it will be helpful for predicting scores. for some reason the url does not appear when i post it

@homersimpson123‌ Nice, Ronaldo is a good one!

@ny1002ny‌

I don’t remember exactly, I just downed it to Personification and Metaphor then I chose metaphor since the language was figurative in those lines as far as I remember…

@ny1002ny‌ Thanks for the advice, calculator gives 100% 800 probability assuming 1 mistake

@MarcoReus‌ delete? i think it was to change from You to One. The passage does have context to the entire passage because he explains what he needs to do

How is C.Ronaldo an example? I love football but I couldn’t think of any of it.

@oz4nss but his hands so it would be contrast cuz of his hands. what was the question again?

@asiankid88, it was like this.

Want members for a board-game club. You need approval for it by the student council. In the first meeting, I was excited and elated at seeing other fanatics finally.

That second sentence is an anamoly. I also thought about the ‘you’ and ‘one’ and it certainly made sense, but deleting just looked better.

@asiankid88‌

Maybe, but does “big” and delicate" really create a contrast? It sounds subjective to make an assumption like this…

@MarcoReus‌ If you think about it, Ronaldo’s simple pleasure of playing football grew into a passion that made him one of the world’s best, thus proving that simple joys do have value.

Like he was poor and he only had football for him, etc etc

@MarcoReus‌ You need to know that it needs approval for the meeting? hmmm i guess you’re right too

@DerRoteBaron, Oh. I argued the other way. How traumatic experiences defined the men Jay Gatsby and Steve Jobs - far ahead of their contemporaries.

@MarcoReus‌ Oh those are really nice examples. Personally I used Darwin and Leonardo Da Vinci, in roughly the same way @homersimpson123‌ used Ronaldo.

@asiankid88‌

As @MarcoReus‌ said, the sentence about “approval” was unnecessary and should be deleted.

Wow, never looked at it that way. How simple joys just evolve into major things. I am stupid.

@oz4nss‌ haha aight, how many times have you guys taken teh SATs and scores for previous SATs?
