***January 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@JuicyMango it’s an integer answer but I can’t remember what it is. See definition here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_function

@TheEpic2401Man I don’t know man…I’m really nervous. I’m pretty sure I got an 800 in math and critical reading. I think I got a perfect MC in the writing section but my essay is the one thing that will probably keep me from getting an 800 in writing. My proctor only gave us 20 minutes (I saw the clock before and after the section) for the essay, so I only wrote 1 and 3/4ths pages and my content wasn’t amazing…which is a complete bummer cause I got a 10 the last 2 times I took the SAT…and I think that’s all I need to get a 2400 :/.

What about you? How did you do this time, and did you achieve your goal?

@bluelightening It’s 47.4 because of the question is asking for (300-63)/5 not 300/5

On the December sat they gave a curve of 1 question for math so I hope they do something similar

no the steel question was trickery. the passage never said to use LESS steel just MORE timer. it should have been the one that says “use steel if energy production is more efficient”…something like that.

The one with the line was pretty difficult so hopefully everyone gets it wrong so SAT considers 1 wrong still a perfect

Hey Guys I have a lot of questions…

  1. For the improving paragraphs part of the first (25 minute) writing section was last question, which asked which of the following would be the best to insert after sentence 11, was it that she was cheered and celebrated upon arrival or about the other guy pioneering science fiction by journey to the center of the earth or something
  2. Come someone recall the answer to the a^2>bc question?
  3. For the dark matter passage was an answer choice about technology and gives solutions?
  4. For the last question of identifying sentence errors, was the answer no error or something about "revolves around"
  5. For the writing question about encyclopedias, was it "and with each list included are..."
  6. What was the answer about what the author says about common sense, was it for factions, the clients, or rights of entrepreneur?

more timber is more likely to imply less steel than no steel. Usually extreme answers like that are incorrect.

@baryonic

  1. I dont remember that one… experimental?
  1. Question: -1<c<b (b-c)^2 <-- Or sumthing like that</c<b
  2. Thats what I put, I think its right, but I'm not perfect on the reading sections.
  3. Don't remember.
  4. Don't remember.
  5. Don't remember.

@Hickey what if c is negative

nevermind guys remove your posts its not worth it…CB is watching this thread.

Came here to see what everyone thought about the curve, should’ve known y’all would be discussing answers. Will our score reports also include which questions we missed (like how the PSAT report gives you the question, your answer, the correct answer, and an explanation)?

does anyone know how to remove posts? i hope CB really doesn’t see these… i’m super scared now

Did anyone else feel like this test was significantly easier than other tests for writing? I thought reading and math were average.

i think math’ll be a good curve, cr medium, and writing bad. but the essay topic was hard imo so idk for sure. what do you guys think?

How do you guys know if CB is watching this thread? also even if they are they can’t find out who I am if I am using a fake email. Right?

@JuicyMango I think math will be more on the rough side, since 2/3 math sections were easy for me but the last one was a little more tough, CR will probably average and writing will wreck us all.

alright just 1 more question…why is everyone saying “steel should be used lee” is correct? that was never mentioned, the author said timber should be used MORE…and the only reason is due to energy.

i didn’t think writing was that hard, but then again, i always make up my answers haha. i was thinking math = medium; CR = good; writing = bad
