Hey guys, hope everything is well. I was just admitted to Boston University with a 1780 SAT score, School of Management. (Yea I know i have a low SAT, but i had a killer writing supplement, GPA, and extracurriculars). However they put me in the CGS January Boston-London Program, and want me to start attending BU in January of 2016 for six weeks, and then I go to London in the summer, followed by one more year of General Studies. So in this case, I’ll be in the school of management in my junior and senior years. To be honest, I do not want this. I just want to go to college normally, any way i can change this?
Me too!! I really want to start in the fall Boston was my top choice I’m so upset
bubbles9, hmm is there anyway we can get out of this haha? I love BU, but at this rate, I’m not gunna go.
I’m so frustrated because I want to call them now and fix this but I know they’re closed and idk why we can’t just be in the regular CGS option!! I don’t mind I just want to start in the fall.
I was also admitted to the CGS January Boston-London program and was also wondering if there was a way to chance the starting semester. Sadly I came to find that there is no way to change this and we will have to go through this January Boston-London admission. This definitely makes me want to reconsider BU.
@Shlaffy are you sure there’s no way??

yeah, unfortunately
There is no way to "fix’ this. It is the admission decision they made for you.
It is actually a variation on Northeastern’s NUIn program.
@TomSrOfBoston why can’t I just be re evaluated for being a regular student in CGS. I don’t need to go abroad
Because those are the rules that BU has established. It is your only route into BU.
Lol I’m just angry because I never chose this option and I didn’t even know that it existed. Nonetheless, they should’ve put it under the application somewhere that if you apply into CGS then you may get placed into January.
The reason they did this is because on the application they asked us if we would consider this option and we checked yes. I’m also really disappointed this happened but we can get 32 credits in 6 months and we get to go away, while the regular kids get 32 credits in 9 months. We aren’t allowed to switch, so it was either this or the wait list/ rejection. Only 300 of us get to do this and I don’t know about you, but BU was a reach school so at least I’m guaranteed admission there
^werd btw im trying to go to med school, would this program put me at a disadvantage? in comparison of other pre med students
@sikhjatt not at ALL a disadvantage. I have a friend currently attending the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and he was accepted into this program as an undergrad.
I applied for SMG, and they said I would be in SMG for my Junior and senior years, will the 2 years of experience In SMG affect my chances of finding a good Job In the business world?
Can a CGS student still apply for BU’s ROTC program?
Am I the only was who was excited about being accepted into the January-London program?
I’m so excited too!!! I am almost positive that I’ll be accepting my spot :). @ReesesPuffs
@212hopeful BU ended up being my cheapest choice so I’m going for sure. Maybe I’ll see ya there
