I already took SAT I once, but the scores are kinda low.

So I'm planning to retake SAT I on January 26th.

The problem is though, the scores will be released on February 15th, and... would Johns Hopkins be kind enough to put aside my applications until this Jan score comes in?

My sincere apologies for asking a silly question and not following the strict deadline set by JHU, but I really don't want to get rejected just because of a really low SAT 1 score.

Thanks for reading, and merry Chirstmas! :)

"As stated on our standardized test requirements web site (http://apply.jhu.edu/apply/testreqs.html), Johns Hopkins strongly recommended that Regular Decision (RD) candidates complete their required tests no later than December of their senior year. We cannot guarantee that January scores will arrive before the Admissions Committee evaluation. Past experience does suggest that scores taken on these dates usually arrive in time. If the scores arrive before the evaluation then they will be considered with one's application. Standardized exams taken after January 2008 will not be considered for admission for the Fall 2008 admissions cycle."

As far as recommendations, yes they play an important part in the admissions review process ... as do all other required parts of the application.

I've been wondering..how badly does one low SAT II score reflect in an application? I have 2 good scores and one really bad one, and I've signed up for the January test. Will the admissions officers only look at the three highest, or will the other one somehow weigh in?

All scores will be evaluated, and there is no way to determine how each score will be looked at in the context of your entire application. No student is every not offered admission because of one standardized test exam, but as well all elements of one's application are taken into account during the review.
