As a last minute decision, my parents wanted me to apply to Brown and to do so I need to take the required 2 SAT II’s. Since it’s too late for me to take the December ones (I think I could take them, but I really don’t feel comfortable with only a week-ish of studying), I was planning on taking them in January. My questions are these:
- Will Brown receive them in time? It says on their website that they do consider January SAT dates so I'm assuming they would consider the SAT II's as well.
- Should I study for and take the January SAT as well? My school only ever offered the ACT so I never took it (the SAT). My highest Math subscore on the ACT was a 30 which is pretty bad (I'm aware :() when considering schools at Brown's level. Lowest was a 26 which I'm really ashamed of... I do believe I can get the equivalent SAT score up when it comes time to in January, but there's always the possibility I'll do worse and totally trash my chances. I'm not that worried about the CR+W section of it as my best overall strength is definitely in reading and comprehension combined with the fact that I'm a pretty good writer (especially when it comes to timed stuff).
I don’t intend this to be a chance me thread or anything but would their opinion of my application be higher if I did well on the SAT Math 2 and the SAT Math section (is that the same as the Math 2 subject test?) on the overall test? Thanks for any opinions and thanks for taking the time to look over my problems! Have a nice Thanksgiving break as well
