...Japanese 620...................

My Japanese with listening score came out.. and it was 620

ick what should I do? Do you think my score will have much impact on my admission decision?

my other scores are math2c 790, chemistry(not yet taken..but it'll be 750+)

my dream shot is Yale..(and yale requires 2 subjects )

I didn't even imagine receiving such a low score, for my friends who always did worse than me in japanese stuff got 780+.................

what the hell happened to my scores? i think i must have made tons of mistakes...=(

Because I am going to apply to both harvard and princeton, which require 3 subject tests,

i am now considering taking U.S history, too..

what do you think about my score? Do you think it will "really really" harm my admission?

Any advice please! I am desperate. .

In general 600+ score shouldn't have negative impact on admission chances, but 620 in Japanese is about 35-40%, which adcoms probably won't like. Check your subscore to get the %%% http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/2008_sat_subject_tests_languages_score_subscore_percentile_rank.pdf

bump 10char

Language tests, from what I can tell, are given more lenience by adcoms. Because they have no idea what your background is and because of native speakers who inevitably throw off the curves, almost any score is considered pretty good. (Especially if you're not Japanese in heritage, it'll look good that you endeavored to learn the language and scored decently on the test.)

thanks! 10char

I'm taking Mandarin, and am on my third year and I speak Cantonese at home (but prior to this, I couldn't read or write). Should I take the SAT language test?

If your japanese then im afraid your life's over.

I wouldn’t recommend taking the chinese sat as much, since you do have Chinese background even though it is a different dialect. It won’t be too impressive on your application. Maybe take other subject tests or speaking exams.
