Keio vs UCLA
Well are you looking for a job in U.S. or Japan? What is your plan to study? Are you California resident?
I’m actually in Japan and I plan to study business, but I’m not sure where I want to be in the future.
Work permission for international students in the US is governed by the policies on CPT and OPT. http://www.ice.gov/sevis/practical-training
A business major would be allowed to work here for 12 months after completing a college degree if the OPT has not already been used up. After that time, the student would need to plan to return home. In rare cases, students who have studied computer science or engineering are able to find employers who can sponsor them for an H-1B (work) visa, but a that would be even less likely for a business major.
If your potential employers in Japan will like you to have a UCLA degree, that is OK. But if not, it would make more sense to study in Japan, work for a while, and then come here for an MBA.
I always thought Japanese companies loved students with excellent English skills that went to school in the US.
I agree with happymomof1. Keiko University is excellent school and you will not have problem to find a job in Japan. If you are still interested in to come to college in U.S. you can always come for upper degree. If you are thinking UC system school UC Berkeley Haas Business school (Graduate School) is the best. I am sure that you will have time to research U.S. school during you are at Keio University.
Do you want to study in the US or are you just thinking in terms of prestige? Have you been admitted to both alreaydy or is this a hypothetical? Can your parents afford UCLA? Have you been admitted anywhere else?
