i spent a great deal of time searching via google and nothing came up that WASN'T an estimate

is there any exact tuition cost for UCI? i just want to know the total amount for the year, and how much i have to pay each quarter?(unless i pay it all upfront, i really dont know)

i may have to pay a portion of my tuition, so i would like to know the TRUE tuition cost

i got an estimate of $8,347.50 for the 2007-2008 school year....is this number correct or at least VERY close to the true cost?

Estimates are probably the most you're going to ever get online. What you've gotten is a very close estimate to how much it'll cost for the entire year (it is split into 3 quarters). I got a notice from UCI that they will be raising the tuition a bit, but exact numbers were not given. Just wait it out and stick with those estimates.

I don't know much about the computer lab since I did not take that class. I hear you basically go in a discussion/lab where you get help on essays? Sorry =.

all right then if im able to pass that placement test on Monday and get into ewrt 1a, i will see u at De Anza!

oh and its good that the class is early, i'm probably going to get a job too. summers too long and boring to sleep it out in the bed. haha

im taking the calc placement test tomorrow and i havnt looked over a single formula u kno...senioritis. so if i dont pass it, is there a specific amount of time that i have to wait until i can take it again?
basically, would i b able to take it again on the July 26th ( my orientation day)?

Trying to prove or convert one trigonometric equation to another is going to kill me in the Precalculus placement test. THAT is the only thing that I am poor at. It's what made AP Calculus seem simple compared to the regular Math Analysis/Trigonometry.

ok jason, this question is not so much about UCI but I just wonder that if I took some AP test this year and send my score to UCI does it include last year's scores? If it's not included should I call collegeboard to ask them to send those scores to UCI? Btw, do you know how much does it cost?

Sending anything via collegeboard will incorporate your older test scores in its respective subcategory (i.e. AP exams and SATs). The cost should be free if you sent the scores along with taking any AP test.

i just got an e-mail from UCI telling me that they have moved their admin building. its now in aldrich hall. But i have alrdy sent in my transcripts to the older address. should i send my transcripts to the new address just in case?

I'm new to these boards and curious about UCI's literary journalism program. UCI is the only UC to offer lit. journalism (and it's usually offered by liberal arts colleges), so I was wondering if you know any details about the program. Also, does UCI have a school newspaper? Is it any good?
Thanks!

Sorry everyone for not being around lately. I've been catching up on many things at home.

The humanities sector at UCI is pretty strong. Honestly, I don't know any details about its strengths and such, but I would like to make it up by showing you a few things about UCI's literary journalism program. The journalism program is very small at UCI but it is backed up by other related majors offering you the ability to explore a bit. Check out this site and browse around. I'd recommend checking out the professors under the department, the courses provided, and, lastly, the internship section. After getting a general gist of the department you will see for yourself what UCI has to offer for a literary journalism major like you. I think it will be a plus that you live in an area concentrated with people also (the OC).

Next, I would recommend you read this page in the UCI catalogue to see what the requirements are along with related majors and courses (if you scroll down).

HI Jason, I just wonder about the workload in college in general. Typically on a night do you have to do a lot of reading or you can relax and wait until the weekend to read? Btw, on a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to get a 3.6?

I have personally found the difficulty of the workload to vary upon the backgrounds of each student. I feel like I had an edge in class because I had previously taken community college courses to give me experience in the college atmosphere.

As an engineering major, my workload is different from other majors. Due to my inability to concentrate on the weekends, I tend to use the weekends to relax and the weekdays to work hard. I always catch up on sleep on the weekends too so time is short, but I do touch my materials during the weekend. Under my schedule, I'm required to basically start studying one hour after my classes end (usually I start working by 3pm). I take my break after eating dinner to let myself digest. The way you manage your time will definitely be different, but you should get ideas from asking others of their methods. A 3.6 does take quite a bit of effort, but, if I were to scale it, I would say about a 7. It gets exponentially harder as you try to achieve a higher GPA. A 4.0 is no joke...I fell short trying to get it last quarter. Just imagine never being allowed to mess up haha.

jas0n: i think that you forgot to mention great games like ragnorok, or console games...or movies that have to be factored in, or even friends :)

no need to thank me about it. just wanted to keep it real.

Yes, good times. Although I'm working on a thesis for my Ph.D in Procrastination under the research project "Gaming Increases Grades," I would not recommend getting too into a game. I got better grades but my lifestyle deteriorated :P.

so jas0n you are telling me that you are going to drop EE, because i think that publishing for your doctorate in the gaming would go under psychological behavior and interaction with the mind. and we all know that psychology falls under the school of social sciences. I think that Wesley just won over another person from the science and engineering dept.....true sadness at hand.
