jason:
how helpful are the first-year experience and freshman seminar courses? Is it worth it to take them for a full year even if it kinda gets in the way in fulfilling requirements for your major? Would you recommend it? Thanks

I do have my opinion on the FYP and seminar courses, but don't take what I'm about to say seriously. I believe those programs and seminar courses get in the way of fulfilling your requirements. I don't recommend it. THey seem to really be a waste of time, especially if you're competent enough to find your own answers (which is probably true since you are here in these forums). However, for those who came in with a more lacking background and poor knowledge of the "system" these programs actually prove very beneficial. Instead, I recommend being active on campus and getting in touch with other parts of the campus such as the career center on campus or your actual professors to help you decide which major you should look into.

does anyone on the waiting list ever get housing (at the beginning of the school year)?

UCI is one of the top programs for criminology. It's either ranked 2nd or 4th. Look it up.

Does the school provide the equipments for student-athletes? I spent a lot of money at high school buying those things like uniform, shoes and other equipments.

I could ask the coach directly but he may think I am too greedy.

UCI Lover:

Sorry man, I'm not sure. Think about it though. D1 college sports...you're bound to have everything paid for haha. (I could be wrong)
