sorry another question how many days does it take for expedited shipping compared to ground shipping? (for the books)

libertyskate93:

There is a slight possibility you can switch. I don't know so much about AV. How did you get the idea that the house is possibly "not good?" I would imagine all of the houses being fine. There are several themes which could affect it though.

buddy:

Is this based on the student store? I've never ordered from the student store before. Usually (not just for a particular store), expediting shipping is 2-6 days and ground shipping is 4-14 days.

yea true, thanks jason

how come you have never ordered from the bookstore jason? what's wrong with it?

sweetdream:

Other places like half.com or amazon are just as cheap. I've also never understood the bookstore. They list there are used books for sale online, but they are completely out of them on the floor. It might be because people already ordered them online for pickup. It's not a big deal. I get the same prices off Amazon, and I buy books directly from the store. I wish they had a better stock/web system...

since the opening week is coming soon, i thought i ought to take care of my monetary issues..

does this include my housing fees? if not, where can i access the bill for that?

as for "UC Promissory Note University Loan Program" document, there are lines that say Permanent Address and Local Address..

what's the difference? do i put my home address for both? home address and my dorm address?

no that doesn't include housing fees

go here for housing payment: http://www.housing.uci.edu/payment.asp

you can only pay housing by check or cash

local address is your uci address and permanent is your home address

i got assigned to mesa court double room with $75 flex dollars

so i guess i have to pay $10,244 in this academic year..

do i have to pay all at once?

or just $3,298 per quarter?

can anyone give me the isbn for

bio 93 05350 i understand it is campbell's book..but what edition is it?
chem 1a 40000 chang's 7th edition?

what is an iclicker?

wow, corporateflea look like me and you will be in the same bio and chem class. I have 05350 and 40000 respectively too. The isbn number for the bio is 9780536462466 and for chem isn't it 9th edition? anyways the isbn for that is 9780073325156. For the iclicker i have no idea what is it used for but i bought it anyways. Good luck with finding those books and hopefully i can see u in class someday.

umm Jason. I tried to buy my parking permit. When i log in it only give me one option of purchasing as an evening commuter but that's so strange i don't even have evening classes. What should i do now?

lol guess i'll see you in class

and thanks for those isbns

i think you can buy ur parking permit next week...
well that's what it said when i tried to buy one yesterday...

corporateflea:

You pay by the quarter. iclickers are wireless multiple choice pads used to answer quiz questions on a screen.

sweetdream:

Ahh, only parking permits are available online. Purchase it next week like dratinisunny says.

jason, for some graduate schools im thinking of applying to, they say they want a minimum of a year of English, to include the study of english composition. The problem is, it looks like i am only taking 39 B and 39 C. There is an upper division bio lab course called Bio 100LW which covers the UCI upper division writing requirement, but the class has absolutely nothing to do with the study of the english language. Am i really supposed to be taking more writing than i already am?

dasherwinator:

UCI does a pretty good job at preparing students for grad schools, but it's not always completely set. You need to be working on your own to fulfill any grad school requirements because that is a whole different ballpark. Try to get clarification on that English requirement. The bio class might cover it. Universities do acknowledge the existence of UCs.

thanks jason =)

hi, jason. I dropped my chem class trying to look for another one with more convenient hours. The problem is that i am now waitlisted with 8 people before me. Being a bio major, my question is: Would it be fine if i took bio 93, writing, and math for my fall quarter? Would i be able to catch up next quarter with the chemistry course i missed, or is chem 1A offered once yearly? Thanks in advance.

I would assume they offer it in the fall because some people are taking the prerequisite class if they werent placed in 1a with the placement test.

chexican2:

I think you meant winter ShoeFactory. They definitely do offer it in winter as ShoeFactory said since that's when engineers take chem1a. If you're 8th on the chem waitlist, you have a high chance of getting in. I would recommend staying on track with chem to be up to date with the many other bio majors.
