Hey Jason if i was put into a double in mesa court and I want to switch with my friend who has a double in middle earth how would I go about doing this? His classes are closer to mesa court and mine are closer to middle earth. Is there any possible way to do this or can we just switch without notifying the school.

Sorry, I don't have a sure answer on this, but anything is possible. It's highly unlikely they will allow the switch though. Technically, you can switch without notifying, but you need to either slip through your RAs or tell them.

Sorry, no AC in the dorms. The weather makes it easy to live without it though (if you don't get direct sunlight in your dorm).

corporateflea:

You can technically leave whenever you want. If you stop paying, you will need to be paying liquidation fees to close your account with housing. It was in your contract. Pull out your copy and read it.

iClickers are required for class. A professor will put a quiz on the board and you will have to answer via iClickers (each iClicker is registered to a student in that class). If you don't answer, you get no grade.

Jason, I just need your opinion on this. Right now I have a summer job in retail. It's not that hard or anything and I work 25 hours each week max. Now that school is about to start in a few week I wonder if it's feasible to work and still have time to study. UCI is a university after all so definitely it can be challenging especially since I'm a bio major. So what do you think? Should I quit now?

If you feel like your job is good to keep, I would give it a test run. THe beginning of the quarter will include a huge change in lifestyle and a slow transition into school. You won't be doing insane work in the first 2-3 weeks, but your social life could tire you. Give yourself a few weeks to judge. I know Chrisr88 said he worked at Albertsons. That reminds me, I should find him when I stop by haha.

when u buy books for courses does it matter what edition you get? im trying to buy a book for econ25 online and the 4th edition is cheaper then the newer one.

Econ might require webwork so buying a new book might be necessary. New books come with a subscription to an online webwork website. In addition, I heard the online subscription comes with an electronic textbook. You might not need to buy the textbook. E-mail your professor to check it out.

did any of you guys get the student guide to writing at UCI? i think i got the wrong book from the store, the one i got is called writing from a to z from mcgraw hill

All the financial aid that I got shows up in my zot account as credit. Will UCI transfer that money to my bank account or do I have to make housing payments etc from there?

Usually you can find professor e-mails on their class webpage which can be found here: https://eee.uci.edu/classes/ . You can also log into EEE using your UCInetID to see your fall schedule. A lot of information will be posted on EEE so start getting friendly with it. Since it's not fall yet, you need to select the fall quarter in the dropbox located in the upper right corner. Click on your professor's name to get their information.

You can get anyone's email address by logging on the UCI email. Click at NACS WebMail FAQ at the right upper corner. Then click at the UCI directory at the right upper corner. You can even choose the other UC campuses.
