Jazz Fest

Giving you guys a heads up on Jazz Fest, which is this weekend, the 23rd to 25th, and next weekend.

For those attending Tulane next year, or visiting for this event, be forewarned that it usually rains on the first weekend.

The second weekend is usually dry.

So if you want to experience this event without regard to specific acts that are performing on certain days, hold off until the second weekend to attend.

Wishing you all a great experience in New Orleans and at Tulane.

But the first weekend is now, right? And it looks like sunny weather. Good luck this year. If the forecast holds, which this far out is a crapshoot, it looks like next weekend is the rain.

Too bad Jazz Fest is always around finals. Tough break for the kids.

Yesterday, Friday, was yucky, rainy. Today (Saturday) was incredibly windy, but the rain held off. Our school fair is always the second weekend, and we’ve only had rain once in 20 years, so that’s why I suggest the first Jazz Fest weekend. But who knows, maybe this year, the rain will come the second weekend, too.

On the other hand, a good friend is at a free festival in Lafayette and gloating to her friends at the soggy Jazz Fest on Friday.
