Jefferson at 2nd Ave

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know about Jefferson.

I signed the lease yesterday and was able to get a 4/4 apartment for $430 per month for 12 months. They are giving incredible discounts so I urge everyone to check it out =]

^This isn't advertisement lol I just really like the that the monthly payments are so low =]

Anyway, does anyone know anything about the safety around this place? It seems like the area behind the apartments is not very safe. I'm a girl and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do if I have to stay in the library until late at night and I'm unable to catch the bus.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

That’s a great deal. We signed a lease in March for our D and I can’t believe how much they’ve reduced the rent since then. Of course I’ve asked about the reduction a few times, but they won’t give us any downward adjustment. You are probably paying an additional $30 for parking right? But everything else included? That’s crazy.

I’m hoping the safety is not a problem. If D is on campus late, I’m thinking she’ll take the bus which stops out front or at least has someone to walk with. 2nd Avenue seems pretty nice from J2A to campus, but we’ve told her definitely don’t walk alone in the dark. That’s a safe practice anywhere.

Why do people call it Jefferson at 2nd Avenue? I’ve never seen the word “at” in any of their materials or website. I think it’s just Jefferson 2nd Avenue.

Idk about the name lol it’s just ON 2nd avenue… i have no ideaa

Parking is free though and everything is included as well. I’m glad now that I waited a little longer to sign the lease.

About the bus, how does that work? Because the Later Gator bus passes by there until 3 am but only Thurs-Sat. So what happens if I have to stay past 3 am on a Tuesday?? There is no bus available so that is what I was referring to.

It’s bus #1 that goes by Jefferson. I’m not sure how convenient it is to the libraries, but worth checking out.

As far as taking the bus back to the apartment is concerned, I wouldn’t be too worried about missing it. If I’m not mistaken, the library is (at the latest) only open until about 11pm.

Libraries are actually open till 1am

Soo what happens if I stay in the Library on a weekday? Im nervous about having to walk to Jefferson

I’m looking at renting a 1br/1ba apartment in Jefferson 2nd Ave. Do any current students/residents have any opinions on this apt complex? I’ve heard both positive and negative reviews, but nothing really recently. I’m interested in J2A because of the location and the availability of 1br/1ba apts. The one thing I’ve heard that has me worried is the noise level.

My daughter moved into Jefferson in June when she started Summer B. They have lowered the prices like 35% since we signed the lease and we were upset that they wouldn’t grant the lower price even before she moved in. The prices now are great.

She had a roommate issue (they matched up the 4 girls in the 4-4) and requested a change. They gave her a two bedroom for the four bedroom price we were paying, so we feel better about what we’re paying now. They did not charge us any fee for the change and they did the complete clean/paint/carpet clean, etc to the unit before she moved in. I really like the way they handled the situation.

Location is excellent considering you are about 5 flat blocks from the top corner of campus where most of the underclassmen classroom buildings are. If you do choose to take the bus, there is only one line, the number 1 and it is every 20 minutes. D got an on-campus job in the Reitz Union and uses the #1 to get back and forth from it. Walking to the football games and University Avenue is good too.

If you are looking for a quieter building, D said pick building 2. 5 and 6 tend to be louder.

I hope that helps.

Thanks so much; that info is very helpful.
